Dickey Wins

RA Dickey took another step towards the ultimate pitching award the Cy Young yesterday when he won for the 18th time against 4 loses. Dickey gave up 8 hits and 2 runs over 6 2/3 innings to the hard hitting Cardinals salvaging the final game of the 3 game set and improving the road trip record to 6-3.

The NY Mets record improved to 65-72 and Mr. Dickey has 18 of those victories to his credit, not too shabby for this soon to be 38 year old knuckelballer. The Mets have two must have off season signing in DWright and RA Dickey. The backbone of the team all year, RA has stepped up on more than one occasion
to stop the bleeding for the Mets.

The Mets come tomorrow to play the next 6 games against their Eastern Division leading Braves and Nationals, both series are crucial to the Mets chances of playing above 500 for the year and the still outside shot of making the playoffs.
