Mets Go For 3 in a Row

Jeremy Hefner pitched well enough to win yesterday at Citi Field and if not for a managerial brain freeze and a subsequent misadventure by Lucas Duda he would have. Terry Collins could have replaced the clogging Duda with a much better outfielder in Jason Bay, but it seems that thought slipped the skippers mind. The Mets won on the second homer of the day for Ike Davis a walk off in the bottom of the ninth.
The Mets starters have a era hovering around 2.0 but sadly, timely hitting has vaporized into thin air and the Mets scoring continues to be an issue for the struggling team. Tomorrow the Mets open a 3 game series against the Phillies with Chris Young going against the now 3rd place team from Philadelphia.
