Sunday Morning Thoughts

The New York Mets won their 6 game in the last 10 for the first time since before the All Star game. Jeremy Hefner proved his worth winning his 2nd game of the year and second consecutive quality start. Jordany Valdespin knocked in 2 runs in a 4 run first inning giving him 25 RBI in just 123 ABs. The Mets are back to a patient approach to every at bat and yesterday's first inning was an prime example of that philosophy.

Today the Mets send young Matt Harvey to the mound for his third start and he is looking to send the boys from Gotham back to NYC on a winning note and a very good west cost road trip after a disastrous two weeks following the break for the All Star game. Look for Jason Bay in LF it may be his last game with Mets as TC and Sandy will have decisions to be made for the remaining of the season. Mets are 8 games out of Wild Card with two months to go, not an impossible task by any stretch of the imagination. In past the Mets have lacked killer instinct lets see how they handle SD today. Lets Go Mets
